Custom E-commerce Development

A store built on your terms — no Shopify transaction fees, no theme limitations, no waiting on an app marketplace for a feature you need today.

Shopify and WooCommerce are fine platforms — right up until your store outgrows what a theme and an app marketplace can do, and every workaround starts costing a monthly fee. A custom-coded storefront on Next.js and Node has no such ceiling: no transaction fees on top of your payment gateway's cut, no app subscriptions stacking up, and no waiting for a marketplace app to support the one feature your catalog actually needs.

Built for Indian payment rails from day one

Every storefront ships with Razorpay integration as standard — UPI, cards, netbanking, the works — with Stripe available in parallel for international orders. No plugin marketplace mediating the connection between your store and your payment gateway; it's wired directly into the checkout flow we build.

What's included

  • A fully custom Next.js storefront — no theme, no page-builder
  • Razorpay and/or Stripe checkout, wired directly into your flow
  • A product catalog sized to your tier — from a 25-product MVP to a 2,500-product build with a full admin dashboard
  • AI product recommendations and basic AI-powered search available from the Growth tier up (see the dedicated AI Product Recommendations and Smart Search pages)
  • Mobile-responsive, fast LCP out of the box — Core Web Vitals are a build requirement, not an afterthought

Why not just use Shopify?

Shopify is a genuinely good starting point for a store with no engineering resources at all. The trade-off is a transaction fee on every sale unless you use Shopify Payments, a theme system that fights you the moment you need something outside its patterns, and app subscriptions that add up fast once you need AI recommendations, advanced search, or custom checkout logic. A custom build has a higher starting cost and no free tier — but no ceiling, no recurring platform fee, and no app you're renting to do something your own code could just do.

AI features, and when they're worth it

Basic AI-powered search ships from the Growth tier up — not because Starter customers don't deserve it, but because a 25-product MVP catalog doesn't have enough breadth for a recommendation or search engine to meaningfully outperform simple filtering. Once a catalog crosses into the hundreds of products, that changes: vector search with LLM re-ranking and tuned product recommendations start doing real work, surfacing products a keyword search or a generic co-purchase widget would miss.

Built for both markets

Razorpay handles the Indian side — UPI, cards, netbanking — and Stripe runs in parallel for international orders, both wired directly into the same checkout rather than bolted on as separate flows. Pricing follows the same pattern as the rest of the site: ₹25,000 / $750 for Starter, ₹75,000 / $2,250 for Growth, ₹1,99,999 / $6,000 for Pro AI. A store selling to both India and an international market doesn't need two separate builds or two separate quotes.

Support once you're live

Starter ships with 30 days of post-launch support, Growth with 60, Pro AI with 90 — covering the fixes and small adjustments that only show up once real transactions start flowing through checkout. E-commerce surfaces problems a design review never catches: a payment edge case, a shipping calculation off by one SKU, a cart state that breaks on a specific browser. That support window exists because those issues are normal, not a sign something was built wrong.

Catalog size, honestly

The product-count ceilings per tier aren't arbitrary — 25 products on Starter fits a founder validating one product line, not padded down to force an upgrade later. A catalog that outgrows 2,500 products or needs multi-vendor architecture moves to Enterprise, scoped individually rather than stretched into a tier that wasn't built for it.

The checkout, built once

A generic Shopify checkout looks the same on every store using it unless you're on Plus with a dedicated checkout-extensibility budget. A custom build's checkout is written for your store from the start — the fields you actually need, the payment methods in the order that matches how your customers actually pay, no unused steps carried over from a template built for a different kind of product. It's also where a lot of conversion gets won or lost, so it's treated as core scope, not an afterthought bolted on after the storefront design is done.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still pay Shopify-style transaction fees?
No. You pay your payment gateway's standard processing fee (Razorpay or Stripe) — there's no additional platform transaction fee on top, because there's no platform.
How many products can my store handle?
From 25 products on the Starter tier up to 2,500 on Pro AI, with a full admin dashboard from the Growth tier. Need more? The Enterprise track is built for unlimited catalogs and multi-vendor architecture.
Can I migrate from Shopify or WooCommerce later?
Yes — product data, order history, and customer records can be exported from most platforms and migrated into a custom catalog. The scope depends on your current platform and catalog size; it's scoped case by case in the discovery call.
