1. Introduction

EcomWeb ("we", "us", "our") provides custom website and e-commerce development services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website or engage us for a project, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site or engaging our services, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, company name (optional), project type, budget range (optional), and the contents of your message.
  • Project engagement details: any business, brand, design, codebase, or operational information you choose to share with us during a project — covered separately by our project-engagement confidentiality terms.
  • Communications: emails, calls, and other messages you send to us.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Server logs: standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps when you visit the site. Used for security and uptime monitoring; not linked to your identity unless you contact us.
  • Cookies and local storage: we use a small amount of browser storage (sessionStorage) to remember which pricing tier you clicked on, so we can pre-fill the contact form. This is cleared when you close the tab.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic and improve content. GA4 sets its own cookies (typically_ga and _ga_*) and may collect IP-derived approximate location, device and browser metadata, referrer URL, and on-site interaction events. Data is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not link this analytics data to anyone's identity unless they also submit a contact form.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to inquiries and provide a written quote.
  • To provide, deliver, and support the services you engage us for.
  • To send you transactional communications about a project you have engaged.
  • To improve our website, service offerings, and internal processes.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your information for behavioural advertising.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers we engage to operate our business — for example, email delivery, hosting, payment processing — under contractual obligations that limit them to the purposes we specify.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Business transfers — if EcomWeb is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred subject to continued protection.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection.

5. Data retention

We retain contact form submissions for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless a longer period is required by law. Project-engagement records are retained for the term of the engagement plus the period required by tax and contract law (typically 7 years in India).

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, reach us via the contact form on our website. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security and you transmit information at your own risk.

8. International transfers

Our infrastructure is operated primarily in India. If we transfer information outside India for service delivery (for example, to a cloud-hosting provider), we do so subject to appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

9. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or communicated by email when appropriate.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy or your information can be sent through the contact form on our website.
